Aion-a year after

Update:10/19/2010

Writing a review of Aion, about a year ago, I reflected on the different tastes of gamers, and what is the line that separates a negative personal opinion by a defect objective. Needless to say, the lack of quests, which inevitably leads to having to kill hundreds of mobs (monsters, enemies are not controlled by other players, for those unfamiliar with the terminology of the typical MMORPG), it seemed to me a fault object, or better ... a big drawback objective.

Of course, writing this review I have spent dozens of hours to the game, reaching 50 (the cap) with my Spiritmaster, a class that relies on various pet, namely elemental, able to make the experience a little 'more "lively", to reach out to my liking.
Aion has a graphics certainly very pleasant and treated, but, as a former player of Lineage 2 and connoisseur of NCsoft games, I wonder when we will see in MMORPG baked by the South Korean software company more body from the standpoint of content, and when we will leave shoulder mentality timesink end in itself (timesink, or something that will make spending / wasting time, again without offering a lot of fun).
Why am I writing about Aion? A few weeks ago there was a large patch, called Assault on Balaurea defined by NCsoft as a free expansion. It makes a number of additions to the game, a pet system for all classes, with different features and utilities, 5 levels that bring the cap to 55, instances, general changes, and especially the two new regions to explore.
I stopped playing a long time ago, after spending some time doing PvP with my legion, trying to print the symbol on one of our strongholds scattered in the Abyss, the large area devoted entirely to the clashes between players. I remember a certain frustration in scoring too many benefits to those who sought to gain PvP rewards and mob killing guards, very far from being regarded as "players in the flesh."
I must admit, though, that this expansion has aroused some interest, and probably am going to take a peek to the new content. The official website, containing lots of info and an extensive Wiki is http://uk.aiononline.com.
