Five awards for League of Legends at GDC Online Awards

It noted, the first edition of the GDC Online (taking over from the GDC Austin to officially focus on online gaming in all its forms) would be an opportunity to put the GDC Online Awards, an award from industry professionals and distinguishing both innovation and excellence in online games.

In other categories, EVE Online gets the prize for the best gaming operations, Aion is rewarded for his music and World of Warcraft (Blizzard) is recognized for its community management (consolidating the management of customer support, forum moderation, the convention or organization taking into account feedback from players).
For his part, Richard Bartle is hailed as the first online game Legend of the whole of his career and Ultima Online enters the Pantheon of the genre (GDC Online Awards Hall of Fame) as both the pioneer of MMO era and an inspiration for his successors.

Whether one agrees or not the choice of professionals who have presented these awards, it is perhaps significant to note that they were awarded this year MOBA, becoming a kind, making clear the link between traditional and MMO games social.
