If you are new to Aion 2 and searching for aion 2 season 1 information, the short version is this: Season 1 is the season the global service is running right now, and the only one you have access to. Aion 2 launched globally on October 5, 2026 after early access opened on September 30, and the Western service opened directly into Season 1 content. This guide covers what the season asks you to do, what it hands back, and what to bank before it ends. For the long-run calendar, see our Aion 2 2026 roadmap.
Where Aion 2 Currently Stands
The Korean and Taiwanese service launched on November 19, 2025 on PC and mobile, and it is the reference build for everything the global service will eventually receive. NCSoft announced Season 2 for the Korean service in January 2026, expanding PvE and PvP with new Expedition, Raid, Ascension Trial, and Nightmare content, plus changes to the Abyss and progression systems. A March 2026 update followed with a class balance pass, new Stigma skills, and Chaotic Abyss, a faction-based PvP mode.
On July 1, 2026, NCSoft shipped Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow in Korea and Taiwan. That is a separate layer of content from seasons, and it is the most important fact for new Western players: Chapter 1 is not on the global service. Global launched with the original eight classes — Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric, and Chanter — without the Brawler and without the Chapter 1 regional content.
The global service opened early access on September 30, 2026 across Steam and NC PURPLE, and launched to the full NA, EU, South America, Asia, and Japan roster on October 5, 2026. It is currently running Season 1. Two caveats keep that clear. Global is not a clean slice of pre-chapter content — Monolith, Arcana, and Pantheon already exist on Western servers, so the Chapter 1 port will be a merge rather than a replay. And Korean cadence is engagement-driven rather than calendar-driven, so a date read off that service is an estimate for global, never a promise.
What Aion 2 Season 1 Is For
Seasons and chapters solve different problems, and confusing them is the most common misread in the Aion 2 content structure. A season is the short, repeating cycle — reward tracks, ranked ladders, and themed objectives that run for a defined window and then reset. A chapter is the big, permanent drop — new classes, new regions, a cap increase, new dungeon archetypes. Seasons tell you what to grind this quarter. Chapters tell you what to build a character around long-term.
Aion 2 runs four layers at once: weekly updates on Tuesday patches, seasons, chapters, and time-limited events on top of all of it. Season 1 is the rewards-and-cadence layer, and on the global service it delivers four specific systems:
- Season Missions — the long-form objective chain for the season
- Season Rank Points — the competitive ladder for ranked PvP
- The Daeva Pass — the tiered seasonal track fed by pass XP from ordinary play (see our battle pass guide)
- Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) — a season-labeled item tied to this cycle’s content
This layer is temporary by design. Season Rank Points, seasonal reward tracks, seasonal currencies, and event progress recycle on their own timers. That is not a loss of progress, because the permanent layer sits underneath untouched — skills, Stigmas, crafting records, titles, Arcana, Monolith records, and pets all travel with your character.
Season 1 Goals and Milestones
Work the season in order of return on time, not in the order the interface lists it. Season Missions come first because they are free and often hand out lump-sum pass XP that most players never collect. The Daeva Pass comes second, because pass XP accrues passively from the logins, dailies, and clears you were going to do anyway. Ranked points come third, and only if your gear supports a win rate.
| Milestone | What it tracks | How to progress it | What it pays out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Season Missions | Long-form season objective chain | Clear the full objective list, not just the highlighted entry | Cumulative rewards and lump-sum pass XP |
| Daeva Pass tiers | Season pass level | Earn pass XP from logins, dailies, clears, and events | Free track baseline, plus the premium track if bought |
| Season Rank Points | Ranked PvP placement | Queue for ranked matches and hold placement | Rank-band rewards that reset each season |
| Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) | Season-labeled item | Earn from season content and seasonal activities | Does not carry past the season |
| Weekly rotation | New instanced content and balance work | Follow the Tuesday patch notes | Gear, currency, encounter refreshes |
| Season cutoff | Last chance to spend seasonal currency | Buy from the season vendor before it closes | Cosmetics and permanent-use items |
Open the Season Missions panel once per week rather than once per season, because the objectives are layered and the bulk of the payout is not at the top. And treat the vendor countdown as a hard deadline: seasonal currency left in your inventory after the window closes is dead weight.
Season Rewards to Track
Season rewards fall into three buckets, and confusing them is how players end up with a bag full of nothing.
Permanent rewards are the ones you keep regardless of what happens to the season. Titles, permanent outfits, mounts, character storage, and account conveniences are worth chasing even late in the cycle. Cosmetics are the most durable value in the Aion 2 store, and a mount or outfit acquired in Season 1 will still be visible to other players a year from now.
Season-scoped rewards are the bulk of the payout and the bulk of the risk. Seasonal currency, seasonal materials, and the Daeva Pass tiers all reset with the cycle. An unspent balance, an expired pass XP boost, and an unclaimed tier are the three most expensive mistakes inside a season window.
Progression rewards keep their value even when the reward track resets. Reputation systems such as Abyss Points and Quna and Mileage, along with unlock paths into Monolith, Arcana, and Pantheon, do not expire when a season closes. They are why veteran players keep grinding the same structures after a reset.
The rule that follows: spend seasonal currency on permanent-value items, and treat the seasonal layer as a deadline rather than a savings account. Our Aion 2 endgame guide covers the systems that continue past the season boundary.
How Seasons Differ From Chapters
NCSoft calls its major content tier a Chapter, and the season is the shorter cycle underneath it. Here is how the two differ in practice.
| Season | Chapter (expansion tier) | |
|---|---|---|
| Cadence | Every few months, short cycle | Roughly annual, irregular |
| Scope | Reward tracks, ranked ladders, objectives | New regions, classes, systems, cap increases |
| Level cap | Never changes | Can raise the cap |
| Duration | Temporary — seasonal layer resets | Permanent — content stays in the game |
| Shipped example | Season 2 in Korea: Expedition, Raid, Ascension Trial, Nightmare content | Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow — Brawler, Eltnen and Morheim |
Season 2 illustrates the season layer precisely: new instanced content and Abyss and progression changes, with no new region and no new class. Chapter 1 illustrates the chapter layer: a new playable class, two new faction regions, a level cap increase, and new dungeon archetypes. Only one of those moved the class roster and the cap.
For Western players the sequence is straightforward: finish the season, then wait for the chapter port, and expect a merge rather than a clean replay. The Korean service runs roughly eleven months ahead, making it the early-warning system for everything headed your way.
How to Prepare for Season 2
The good news about preparation is that Season 2 is the shape of content NCSoft has already shown it can build. The January 2026 Korean announcement laid out the template: Expedition, Raid, Ascension Trial, and Nightmare content, alongside Abyss and progression changes. Global has not received Season 2 and no global date has been published, so treat the Korean service as a preview of the content type rather than a countdown clock.
What you can do now is concrete. Spend down seasonal currency before the vendor closes, because unspent seasonal currency is the most common loss in a live-service MMO. Keep grinding the permanent reputation tracks — Abyss Points, Quna and Mileage — since they carry across the season boundary. Bank rare crafting materials, because a new content tier routinely raises demand for materials that were near-worthless during a quiet stretch. Keep one character at the current cap so a balance pass lands on something you can test. And keep a character slot free for a class you cannot play yet, so the Brawler is a swap when the port arrives rather than a reroll you pay for.
One thing you should not do is hoard Kinah in anticipation of a wipe. Nothing in Chapter 1 deleted characters, and the seasonal layer resets are designed, announced resets. The Aion 2 expansion guide breaks down the transfer rules.
FAQ
What is Aion 2 Season 1?
Aion 2 Season 1 is the current seasonal cycle on the global service, which launched on October 5, 2026 and opened directly into Season 1 content. It delivers the seasonal layer of the live service: Season Missions, Season Rank Points, the Daeva Pass, and Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1). Seasonal rewards reset on the cycle’s own timer, while the permanent layer underneath — skills, Stigmas, crafting records, Arcana, Monolith records, and pets — stays with your character. It is separate from Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow, which shipped July 1, 2026 in Korea and Taiwan only and is not on the global service yet.
When does Aion 2 Season 2 start?
There is no announced global date. NCSoft announced Season 2 for the Korean service in January 2026, adding Expedition, Raid, Ascension Trial, and Nightmare content along with Abyss and progression changes, and that service runs roughly eleven months ahead of global. Because the cadence is engagement-driven rather than calendar-driven, a global date read off that service would be an estimate, not a promise.
How many seasons does Aion 2 have?
NCSoft has not published a fixed total. Seasons are a repeating cycle rather than a numbered series with a planned end, and the Korean and Taiwanese service has moved through multiple seasons since November 19, 2025 while global is still in Season 1. The one guide rail is the Chapter tier: major content is organized into Chapters, and a chapter can absorb what would otherwise be a season’s worth of new systems.
Should I wait for Season 2 in Aion 2?
No. Waiting costs you more than it saves. Seasonal rewards reset, so anything you could earn in Season 1 cannot be earned retroactively in Season 2, and the global economy is still in its early state — the auction house is unflooded and dungeon groups are easy to find right now. Character progress, gear, and reputation all carry forward, so a player who starts today arrives at Season 2 better positioned.

Aion 2 season 1 is the version of the game that is live right now, not a preview of something later, and the players who get the most out of it treat the window as a window. Work the Season Missions, keep the Daeva Pass fed, hold your rank points, and spend your seasonal currency before the vendor closes — then read the Korean service to see what Season 2 will look like.
